Happy Friday, friends! I hope you have some fun things planned this weekend! We are going to see “The Great Gatsby” ballet performed by the Pittsburgh Ballet Theater tonight! I’m so excited! I love that story, and I am a huge fan of ballet. I used to take ballet and other dance classes when I was younger. I started in kindergarten and danced all the way through high school. I loved ballet the most! It takes so much work, dedication, and strength. I have so much respect and admiration for the art! And, it is just so visually stunning!

When I was about 16 years old I got very sick with severe anemia and I had to stop dancing for a while. It was crushing for me. After my long sabbatical, I went back to ballet. But, my body didn’t feel the same; I was still so fatigued. I was discouraged and I decided to pursue other things like singing lessons, theater, and show choir that didn’t require as much of my energy. I couldn’t watch ballet for such a long time after that because it made me so sad. I missed it terribly. But, fortunately now that I’ve moved past that time I am able to enjoy it again. Thankfully, we are all blessed with many gifts and just because one of them doesn’t work out for you doesn’t mean you can’t pursue the ones that can!

Just because I can’t dance like I used to, doesn’t mean I won’t get dressed to the nines to go watch it, haha! I’m excited to wear one of my favorite new pieces that is really trending right now to the theater tonight: the utility jumpsuit! I’m so in love with this trend! Where jumpsuits were once only for spring and summer with their light and flowing fabrics, we are now seeing them transformed through the utility jumpsuit! The fabrics are heavier, the design is more structured. It allows for added warmth in the colder months, meaning jumpsuits are a year-round thing now! They’ve been seen on all of the major fashion house runways and have made their way into stores that fit every budget! Score!

The utility jumpsuit is such a fun, retro take on the blue collar workers’ uniform. You’ll see they usually button or zip up the front, have lots of pockets, and sometimes even a belt to cinch the waist. They’ve got all of the functionality of a uniform in a comfortable, effortlessly stylish wardrobe staple. Yes please!

You can find utility jumpsuits in so many different fabrics. I am loving the corduroy as seen on me here. It definitely keeps the chill out and gives the jumpsuit an added vintage flair. I love the 70s vibe! You’ll also see them in denim, silk, satin, cotton, and more.

I found this corduroy one at Nordstrom. It’s by Reformation. Reformation is an amazing brand that makes sustainable fashion, which means it’s less harmful to the planet! Love that.

I like how this jumpsuit zips up the front. It looks like a chic and flirty boiler room uniform, haha! The flared legs bring drama and statement style. This color is so rich and looks great on any skin tone, too. It’s perfect for a night out on the town and even works for work!

I’ve linked this jumpsuit as well as some other awesome one’s I have found in different colors, fabrics, and price points. Let me know what you think! Which are your favorites? Have a wonderful weekend! <3
