women dresses

Hey, babes!  How was your weekend?  Mine was great.  We had lots of birthday celebrations for Ryan last week between family, his work, and just us, so Saturday we took it easy at home.  Yesterday I had a job booked as a model for a company called “Simply Whimsical“.  It’s the cutest company that makes adorable apron designs and other kitchen accessories.  It was a fun day of shooting!  (Check them out if you have a chef in your family and need a gift idea!) Then we went out to dinner and saw the movie “Bohemian Rhapsody”!  It was soooo good.  I loved it!  I didn’t know much about Freddie Mercury of Queen other than his music.  He did some not so great things to his friends and family.  I think it’s obvious he was a deeply hurting soul.  However, you can’t deny his incredible talent and the way he lived his life so authentically.  You hear that all the time on social media.  “Live authentically”.  “Be authentic”.  That man truly embodied being authentic!  I think the rest of us have some work to do, haha.  It made me realize though, that I don’t want to just be like everyone else.  I want to figure out what it is that makes me feel most like me and do that!  Afterall, nobody can be better at being you.  So, why not be what you’re best at?  Quote me on that.  That’s a good one.

Thanksgiving Dinner!  It’s back!  Time for family gatherings and too much food that you feel like your pants are going to bust.  Well, not this year!  Because, I’m suggesting you just skip the pants all together!  Haha.  Seriously.  Not that I think that gorging yourself on food is healthy, but it’s Thanksgiving, it’s a long day, you want to be comfortable AND look nice.  I personally think that Thanksgiving Dinner is such a classic American holiday, so why not dress like a classy American?!  I love to dress up for holiday dinners.  It feels so much more special when everyone puts a little effort into looking nice.  The table is always so beautifully decorated, it just would be doing it a disservice to show up in sweats.  Now, after dinner, I’m all about a change of clothes!  But, you want to show up to greet your family (maybe even a new family if it’s a new bf or gf you’re spending the holiday with?) looking your best, right?  Well, with these 3 Perfect Thanksgiving Looks, you can do just that 🙂

1. The Jumpsuit

If you’ve read any of my previous  blog posts, you are well aware that I’m a fan of the jumpsuit!  There are some great jumpsuit options that I’ve linked here with sleeves, so don’t just think jumpsuits are for summer months!  They can definitely be worn in the fall and winter, too!  A jumpsuit is perfect for a holiday dinner because you look completely pulled together and as if you made quite a bit of effort, but they’re deceivingly comfortable!  Many of them even have elastic waistlines, so bring on the second helpings!  Haha.  I eat very healthy even through the holidays, so I’m seriously not telling you to double dip in the cherry pie.  I’m talking about green beans and brussel sprouts here, people 🙂 (This is Dress Well, BE WELL, haha.  But that includes having dessert, too!)  Anyway, jumpsuits are an elegant and chic way to look fabulous at any holiday gathering!  I love this one from Anthropologie!  The beautiful pattern and metallic stitching detail give it a bohemian vibe that I love.  The colors are so rich making it perfect for fall and winter!  I’ve linked the one I’m wearing here as well as several others all at different price points and sizes!2.  The Skirt, Blouse, & Boots Ensemble

Talk about classic!  It doesn’t get much more American and classic than this look!  Even if you didn’t go to private school, I’m sure at some point in your life you had a plaid skirt, a blouse or sweater, and some knee socks and saddle shoes.  I wasn’t rocking OTK boots back in the day, but I had my fair share of knee socks and saddle shoes!  My mom loves those and I did, too!  But, I love the skirt and boots look now.  If you get a skirt that is just long enough and pair it with a nice blouse that your mother would approve of, this look can be very elegant and timeless (instead of sexy school girl) and can work perfectly for Thanksgiving dinner!  I’ve found these skirts to also have more give than pants making them more comfy than pants or jeans, too.  This one by Blank NYC is really comfy and even has a little stretch to it.  I love this pretty blouse by Halogen.  It’s a great staple to have in your closet.  You’ve probably seen me wearing these boots in all of my Instagram pics!  They are so comfortable and actually have stayed up so far!  I would really recommend them, and they’re usually 30-40% off all of the time! I’ve linked my outfit here as well as several other cute skirts, boots, and tops at different sizes and prices, too!3.  The Wrap Dress

Who doesn’t love a good wrap dress?  They are universally flattering on every body type, they make your figure you look amazing, AND they’re super comfortable, especially when they come in a fabric as soft as this one from Anthropologie!  I love the fall colors in this dress, making it perfect for everyone’s favorite end of the season celebration!  You can wear your wrap dresses with OTK boots, tall boots, booties, heels, flats, whatever suits your fancy.  You’ll be comfortable all day and look beautifully pulled together, too.  I’ve linked this dress as well as some other cute ones for this time of year below at different prices and sizes.

Well, I hope that one of these looks works great for you!  Let me know what your favorite is in the comments!  Wishing you the Happiest of Thanksgivings this year!  May you dress well and be well 😉

One thing I’ve always loved about fall fashion are the rich colors!  I love the deep, warm tones.  They always bring out the best in people’s skin tones, eyes, and highlights in the hair.  Plus, they feel warm and cozy, and who doesn’t love that?  I am obsessed with this copper color for fall this year!  I’ve been seeing it everywhere and I think it is so pretty.  It reminds me of cinnamon sticks 🙂  I was really excited to find a cute wrap dress in this color!

My all-time favorite style of dress is the wrap dress!  It is universally flattering on every figure, not to mention almost always very comfortable, too!  It accentuates a woman’s most attractive features, the waist and the curves!  You might think that drawing attention to the waist might bring unwanted attention to that area if you’re self-conscious about it, but it actually gives you much more of an hour glass shape than a shapeless dress like a shift dress might.   I like the fact that wrap dresses have a v-neckline because it also elongates the neck, making you look leaner and longer!

This dress is by C/MEO.  If you have never heard of this brand, you should make note of it!  It’s one of my favorites.  Their collection is really trendy and modern, yet they keep it very classy!  This piece is super comfortable.  I love the silky fabric, it has such a pretty sheen to it.  The statement sleeves are right on trend with the gathered detail and billowing.

I kept this look neutral with nude heels and handbag.  My earrings are my current favorite by Vanessa Mooney!  Such a fun take on the classic gold hoop! They are so cute and versatile!

I’ve linked this wrap dress, my shoes, bag, and accessories, as well as some other wrap dresses I love for this season!

Nothing feels like summer more than white lacey tops and dresses!  I’m really into the bohemian vibe, especially in the summer.  I love the softness of the look and the flowy, romantic feel.  Tularosa is one of my favorite brands that really captures that feeling.  This top by Tularosa is a staple for me!  You can pair it with denim or skirts, it’s super versatile.

The cropped top and high waisted denim trend is definitely still happening.  I love the high waisted denim!  Bring on the mom jeans!  These jeans are my current favorite brand, Good American.  Khloe Kardashian really knows what she is doing with denim!  Her Good American brand has jeans for EVERY body!  Sizes 00-24!  They’re slogan is “sexy at every size!”  I love that.  I have three pair, and they are all three my favorite jeans to wear!  They are so comfy and stretchy, but they are still solid denim that won’t stretch out and leave you with a saggy butt.  The waistline hits just right, too.  I hate it when denim says high waisted but it is still way below the belly button.  High waisted jeans give us the look of longer legs and smaller waist as they hit at your true waistline.  If you’re still on the fence about them, I dare you try some, you might be pleasantly surprised! 😀  Click on the pics below to shop this look!

For my birthday this year, my husband surprised me with tickets to see Britney Spears in concert at Radio City Music Hall in NYC!  I was sooooo obsessed with Brit there for a while, especially during her earlier years!  While I still love her, I wasn’t expecting to totally fan girl out, but I was that girl!  Second row, screaming, singing and dancing along while my husband videoed her (and me – so embarrassing, if that ever gets leaked I will DIE!)!  I had the best night I’ve had in a really long time!

I knew that I had to find a special dress to go see my girl Brit!  I went through several options when I came upon this slip dress by DELFI.  I am in love with it!  I would never have expected that I would have liked a slip dress this much.  I don’t think I’ve ever owned one.  I was skeptical at first because it is really thin, but it is so comfortable and surprisingly flattering at the same time!  That is my jam.  Comfort is key!  Especially when eating at the fabulous NYC restaurants where you know you’re probably going to go a little overboard on food (and likely drink – I drank alcohol for the first time since December, and it certainly added to the enjoyment! Cabernet, baby! Doesn’t take much for me!).  But, you don’t want to forgo style on a big night out when still striving for comfort, so this little slip dress was perfect!  I love that it has adjustable straps AND an adjustable thigh slit length!  The dress lets you decide how much you want to show – not much at all, or if you really feel like going for it, you can!  LOL.  It’s a great dress for a night out or even a wedding.  The colors make it a transitional piece for the warmer fall months, too!  I’ve linked this dress, shoes, accessories, and some other cute slip dresses at different price points that I love as well!
