Valentine's Day Dresses

Hey there, Monday! It’s back again. But, that’s okay, because we have things to look forward to, like what we’re wearing for Valentine’s Day, right?! I got you covered! Today’s post is for my girls who are keepin’ it more casual for V-Day. I’ll have some dressier looks for you later this week!

Valentine’s Day is really just an excuse for me to spoil my husband again right after I just did the same thing for Christmas, haha. But, I love any reason to celebrate! So, we like to get dressed up and go out to a nice dinner.

Valentine's Day Dresses

I love to pair a fancy, romantic top with some great denim! It’s my favorite way to look fashionable, dressed up, but still be comfortable and not over dressed. This look I’m wearing is a perfect example! I took this pretty, sheer, lace top and topped it off with some distressed, vintage-inspired denim by Citizens of Humanity. This top is perfect for Valentine’s Day because it’s sweet and sexy at the same time. It has sheer sleeves and yoke, but it has a built in cami, so you’re covered in all the right areas. The top is by Wayf and I found it at Shopbop.com for under $100! Score! I finished this look with my favorite white booties to keep it fresh and trendy.

You could totally wear this top with your favorite skirt or pair of pants, too! It would look great with a leather or suede skirt, or some paper bag, cinched waist pants. I love to mix textures like leather and lace! You could even pair it with corduroy which is really popular right now as well.

What to wear on Valentine's Day

I’ve linked this top as well as some other dressy, romantic tops that would be PERFECT for Valentine’s Day! I hope you find something to make you feel as lovely as you are to celebrate the one you love! <3

New Year's Eve Tops
Cheers to New Year’s! My top is by BCBGeneration that I found at Revolve this season!

Happy Monday, babes!  Hope you’re hanging in there through all of the holiday chaos!  We have been soooo busy.  I’m having a hard time keeping up!  This week we leave for our trip to NYC which I’m super excited about!  Christmastime in NYC is one of the best things on Earth if you ask me!

I’m also really excited for New Year’s Eve!  I love celebrating New Year’s.  It’s a time to reflect on the year that passed and set goals and chase down dreams for the year to come.  I find that when I take time to write down intentions for myself, I see that they’re more likely to come to fruition.  Even if I don’t know exactly what I want to happen, writing down ideas about the direction I’d like to see my life going always helps get my mind set on the path to getting there.  Last year we spent New Year’s Eve in Hawaii!  It was a life-changing trip for me.  I was in excruciating pain much of the trip and I was really scared about what my future held.  But, I bought a journal on that trip, and I started writing and envisioning all of the things I wanted to happen in the coming year.  I wrote positive affirmations for myself, and I revisited them daily.  It took many months, but very slowly these things started to happen and my life, my health, and my emotional state all began to grow and improve.  I really do believe in setting intentions and goals.  It helps to have a map, so to speak, of where you want to see yourself traveling on life’s journey!

So, since New Year’s Eve is such a momentous day, you gotta have a great outfit, right?!  I like to start the new year off on the right foot looking and feeling amazing!  I always find a reason to dress up on New Year’s Eve, even if I have to create it myself 🙂  I just did a post on holiday dresses that have so many options that would be amazing for New Year’s Eve!  You can check it out here.  But, if you’re going a bit more low key this year, I’ve rounded up some of my favorite festive tops in lots of colors, materials, and sizes!  These would look amazing for a New Year’s Eve party with your favorite jeans, shorts, leather pants, or skirts!  I’m really loving the metallic trend this year.  Gold is huge, so I’ve included a lot of it.  Velvet, lace, and sequins are all perfect options, too!

What are your plans for ringing in the New Year?  I’d love to hear what you all are doing to celebrate!  We will be party hopping and I’m so excited to wear a metallic dress I found recently.  I’ll be sure to share it with you!  Have a safe and happy New Year, friends! XOXO.

Nothing feels like summer more than white lacey tops and dresses!  I’m really into the bohemian vibe, especially in the summer.  I love the softness of the look and the flowy, romantic feel.  Tularosa is one of my favorite brands that really captures that feeling.  This top by Tularosa is a staple for me!  You can pair it with denim or skirts, it’s super versatile.

The cropped top and high waisted denim trend is definitely still happening.  I love the high waisted denim!  Bring on the mom jeans!  These jeans are my current favorite brand, Good American.  Khloe Kardashian really knows what she is doing with denim!  Her Good American brand has jeans for EVERY body!  Sizes 00-24!  They’re slogan is “sexy at every size!”  I love that.  I have three pair, and they are all three my favorite jeans to wear!  They are so comfy and stretchy, but they are still solid denim that won’t stretch out and leave you with a saggy butt.  The waistline hits just right, too.  I hate it when denim says high waisted but it is still way below the belly button.  High waisted jeans give us the look of longer legs and smaller waist as they hit at your true waistline.  If you’re still on the fence about them, I dare you try some, you might be pleasantly surprised! 😀  Click on the pics below to shop this look!
