Happy Friday, everyone! I hope you had a fabulous week! I’m looking forward to a much needed, relaxing weekend! Don’t have too much on the agenda and I’m OK with that! π

It’s May! That came quickly! The weather has been beautiful here in Pittsburgh, and that makes me feel a lot better, how about you? Although, with warmer weather we have to be cautious about TICKS! May is Lyme Disease Awareness Month. Since my life has been heavily affected by this disease, I want to share some info about it throughout the month. With spring and summer upon us, you MUST be diligent in protecting yourself and constantly checking after being outdoors at all – even just a walk to your mailbox. Lyme Disease is the fastest growing infectious disease in North America. It is twice as common as breast cancer and six times as common as AIDS. It is a much more dangerous disease than you are often led to believe. Treatment does not mean cure. Most patients still have some degree of infection after the CDC’s recommended 28 day course of antibiotics. Your best chances are catching it early! However, it can be dormant and go undetected in your body for years, as was my case – until it reared its very ugly head and took over my body. I’ll never be able to fully describe the symptoms I had. They were very extreme! The worst were daily migraines, debilitating fatigue that would leave me bedridden, searing joint pain, memory loss, brain fog/confusion, muscle pain and body aching 24/7, digestive problems, painful bladder syndrome, and much more. It was a nightmare. I’m doing better now after years of treatments. But, I still have a ways to go. It does a number on your organs, systems, tissues, and overall health. If you find a tick, no matter how long it was attached, find a Lyme Literate Dr right away (LLMD) or a Naturopath who SPECIALIZES in Lyme Disease. Don’t take chances. Stay healthy and be on the lookout! π
Now, on to the jeans you came here for!! LOL! Sorry, I gotta do my due diligence in spreading awareness, guys.

So, let’s talk my favorite denim trend – straight leg, raw hem jeans! I had a special request from someone (shout-out to Casey!!) to do a blog post on this, so I’m honoring it very happily! I love hearing from you guys about what you like to see on the blog! I’m happy to help you find what you’re looking for. It’s so fun!

I am totally loving the switch in denim trends from skinny to vintage styles like the straight leg jean! You’ve probably seen me wearing it a lot. It’s a big trend for 2019. What I love even more is the raw hem that we’ve been seeing along with them! I like to pair a raw hem jean with a polished, feminine top and heels! Now that it’s warm out, you can totally rock this look with mules, open toe mules or slides, heeled sandals, platform sandals, and even sneakers! (I just got a really cute pair of platform Van’s that would look so cute for a more casual look! You can find them on my “LIKEtoKNOW.it” page here – if you haven’t yet, be sure to download the FREE “LIKEtoKNOW.it” app in your app store on your phone. You can find ALL of my looks from Instagram on there, as well as extras that I put up sometimes, like these shoes! You can search for me, click follow, and check the app anytime to see what new looks and products I’ve posted! You can save the items you like the most and come back to them later if you want to purchase them. It’s such a cool app to follow your favorite fashion and home bloggers! The cropped look is really in style, but so is the longer full length! I love both! I really loved wearing the cropped look with sock boots this fall and winter, but they of course still look great in the spring while showing off your favorite sandals and pedicure π

I’ve found bunch of cute styles from some of my favorite brands, all under $200 for you to shop! I love the vintage washes and distressed detailing! I also like them with just the raw hem and no distressing otherwise. I’ve linked some with high waists and some that are mid-rise, so you have that option, too! I prefer high rise on my frame because I have a long torso, and not many curves, so it helps me to look a bit more curvy than a mid-rise. But, they both look great, it just depends on your taste.

Another reason I love the raw hem trend is because petite girls like me can create this look with ANY pair of jeans in our closets! I actually chopped these off myself and frayed the bottom a bit! No one would ever know! All you have to do is go either go an inch above your ankle for a longer look, or take them up about 3 inches from the ankle bone for a cropped length. It saves me some money and a trip to my local seamstress for alterations. Check out my picks below!
I’ve also linked this outfit for you in case you are interested in it. This top is on major sale right now! It’s such a great, versatile, summer piece. You can easily dress it up with a skirt. I love the vintage embroidery and sleeves! So boho! These are my favorite sunglasses of the season, too π
Hope you found something you like! What do you think of the straight leg trend? Do you prefer the cropped or full length? Have a great weekend! π
