Hey, babes! How was your weekend? Mine was great. We had lots of birthday celebrations for Ryan last week between family, his work, and just us, so Saturday we took it easy at home. Yesterday I had a job booked as a model for a company called “Simply Whimsical“. It’s the cutest company that makes adorable apron designs and other kitchen accessories. It was a fun day of shooting! (Check them out if you have a chef in your family and need a gift idea!) Then we went out to dinner and saw the movie “Bohemian Rhapsody”! It was soooo good. I loved it! I didn’t know much about Freddie Mercury of Queen other than his music. He did some not so great things to his friends and family. I think it’s obvious he was a deeply hurting soul. However, you can’t deny his incredible talent and the way he lived his life so authentically. You hear that all the time on social media. “Live authentically”. “Be authentic”. That man truly embodied being authentic! I think the rest of us have some work to do, haha. It made me realize though, that I don’t want to just be like everyone else. I want to figure out what it is that makes me feel most like me and do that! Afterall, nobody can be better at being you. So, why not be what you’re best at? Quote me on that. That’s a good one.
Thanksgiving Dinner! It’s back! Time for family gatherings and too much food that you feel like your pants are going to bust. Well, not this year! Because, I’m suggesting you just skip the pants all together! Haha. Seriously. Not that I think that gorging yourself on food is healthy, but it’s Thanksgiving, it’s a long day, you want to be comfortable AND look nice. I personally think that Thanksgiving Dinner is such a classic American holiday, so why not dress like a classy American?! I love to dress up for holiday dinners. It feels so much more special when everyone puts a little effort into looking nice. The table is always so beautifully decorated, it just would be doing it a disservice to show up in sweats. Now, after dinner, I’m all about a change of clothes! But, you want to show up to greet your family (maybe even a new family if it’s a new bf or gf you’re spending the holiday with?) looking your best, right? Well, with these 3 Perfect Thanksgiving Looks, you can do just that 🙂
1. The Jumpsuit
If you’ve read any of my previous blog posts, you are well aware that I’m a fan of the jumpsuit! There are some great jumpsuit options that I’ve linked here with sleeves, so don’t just think jumpsuits are for summer months! They can definitely be worn in the fall and winter, too! A jumpsuit is perfect for a holiday dinner because you look completely pulled together and as if you made quite a bit of effort, but they’re deceivingly comfortable! Many of them even have elastic waistlines, so bring on the second helpings! Haha. I eat very healthy even through the holidays, so I’m seriously not telling you to double dip in the cherry pie. I’m talking about green beans and brussel sprouts here, people 🙂 (This is Dress Well, BE WELL, haha. But that includes having dessert, too!) Anyway, jumpsuits are an elegant and chic way to look fabulous at any holiday gathering! I love this one from Anthropologie! The beautiful pattern and metallic stitching detail give it a bohemian vibe that I love. The colors are so rich making it perfect for fall and winter! I’ve linked the one I’m wearing here as well as several others all at different price points and sizes!2. The Skirt, Blouse, & Boots Ensemble
Talk about classic! It doesn’t get much more American and classic than this look! Even if you didn’t go to private school, I’m sure at some point in your life you had a plaid skirt, a blouse or sweater, and some knee socks and saddle shoes. I wasn’t rocking OTK boots back in the day, but I had my fair share of knee socks and saddle shoes! My mom loves those and I did, too! But, I love the skirt and boots look now. If you get a skirt that is just long enough and pair it with a nice blouse that your mother would approve of, this look can be very elegant and timeless (instead of sexy school girl) and can work perfectly for Thanksgiving dinner! I’ve found these skirts to also have more give than pants making them more comfy than pants or jeans, too. This one by Blank NYC is really comfy and even has a little stretch to it. I love this pretty blouse by Halogen. It’s a great staple to have in your closet. You’ve probably seen me wearing these boots in all of my Instagram pics! They are so comfortable and actually have stayed up so far! I would really recommend them, and they’re usually 30-40% off all of the time! I’ve linked my outfit here as well as several other cute skirts, boots, and tops at different sizes and prices, too!3. The Wrap Dress
